The main window
If you have worked with text editors before, learning AllWrite will not be hard at all. If you haven't, it will be easy anyway.
The main window is a text window just like in BBEdit or simple text.
At the left side of the grey bar at the top, there is a document icon. You can drag this one to the Finder to create a text clipping of the document. You can also drag it to another text window.
If you control-click at the icon, a menu appears, letting you wiew info about the document or make a backup copy of the file. By default, the backup copies you make is put into a folder called "Backup folder" in the same folder as the AllWrite application. In the settings you can select another folder to make bakup in.
You can drag any text file onto the document icon to append the file's text to the end of the document.
At the left bottom of the window there is a status display that indicates if the autosave option is on. More on autosave later.
